We Have an Identity Crisis

We know that culture has an identity crisis. They don’t know “who” they are. And that is a confusing place to be. But many Christians also don’t know who they are. When a child of God does not know their “new” identity, that identity being “rooted” in Christ. Not only are they sitting ducks for the enemy of their souls, but in their confused state they end up living lives of “contradiction.” What I mean by “contradiction” is they think, speak, and behave inconsistently with their new identity.

I have found that when a child of God discovers who they are “in” Christ they see their value in their new identity. It is His love for them that causes them to realize their worth to Him, also their worth to the Body of Christ, also their place in this world. That may sound obvious to some. But if it were so obvious to most children of God, then why are so many children of God living like they are not His? It is our identity that is our compass. Our identity is the core of our being. Our identity in Christ is meant to be the center that everything else revolves around. Therefore, we must recognize that it is of utmost importance to Christ that you know “who” you are in Him. I lead a group called “Identity in Christ” in the town I live in. I pray that someday this group would move across the nation and be planted in all Christ-centered churches. Until then, I would like to share with you what is written at the bottom of the “about” page of this blog site.

The Word of Truth in a World of Lies

The purpose of this site is to help remind, or encourage, the “Church,” or Body-of-Christ, of who She is. In other words, reminding Her of Her “IDENTITY.” The reason is, if a child of God either forgets, or does not fully grasp the truth of “who they are, where they’re from, why they’re here, and where they’re going” then they will get lost along the journey. However, if a Christian holds fast to, and claims their identity. Recalling that they are “born of God,” of a spiritual “Seed,” being “citizens of heaven” (Phil. 3:20), and literally therefore “not of this world,” then they will have confidence in who they are, confidence in their God, and confidence to face this world each day. They will stand firm in the TRUTH. They will remember that the Lord has called them to live “holy, set-apart” lives in this dark world where they will shine as lights to those around them. And like the Apostle Paul, can say, “I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me” (Gal. 2:20).

I pray you will consider searching this site to find posts that encourage you in your identity in Christ. Of course, this is only one source out of many resources out there. But one thing is for sure. Satan wants God’s children ignorant of their identity and the blessings attached to that identity! Therefore, don’t let him turn your attention elsewhere to find your identity and value. Remember: Only ONE person, God (the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) knows what your true worth is, and how to affirm that worth.

Lastly, I want to offer two other resources that will encourage your identity in Christ: David Diga Hernandez Ministries (on YouTube) and Derek Prince Ministries (on YouTube). Once you begin watching these individuals YouTube will point out others who are similar, and this is a good thing. Soon you will have many to choose from. Also please pray for the ministry of “Identity in Christ” when you think of it. Thank you.
