Which Kingdom are You Fighting For?…

“Run to and fro through the streets of Jerusalem, look and take note! Search her squares to see if you can find a man, one who does justice and seeks truth, that I may pardon her….O Lord, do not your eyes look for truth? You have struck them down, but they felt no anguish; you have consumed them, but they refused to take correction. They have made their faces harder than rock; they have refused to repent” (Jer. 5:3).

The LORD said, seek Me and you WILL find me, when you seek Me with ALL your heart…

Our God is the Most High. A Holy and righteous God. He speaks only the truth and seeks those who will also speak only the truth!

So let us consider the truth when it comes to the Kingdom from above where Christ is, compared to the Kingdom below, which is ruled by the prince of this world!

The foundation for the theology of the Kingdom is this, When Jesus was questioned by the unbelieving Jews He said, “You are from below; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world. (John 8:23) Later, Jesus answered Pilate, “My kingdom is not of this world. If my kingdom were of this world, my servants would have been fighting, that I might not be delivered over to the Jews. But my kingdom is not from the world. ”Then Pilate said to him, “So you are a king?”...[Jesus said] “For this purpose I was born and for this purpose I have come into the world—to bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth listens to my voice.” (John 18:36-37, emphasis mine).

When Jesus departed this world and ascended to the Right hand of the Most High God He sent His Holy Spirit to us, His children. So that we might live by, and declare, the Spirit of truth or, the Holy Spirit.

My question is:

Who’s kingdom are you fighting for? We are in the midst of a war. It is not a war against flesh and blood. But it is the unseen power behind those who are in the flesh that we are waring with. It is a war between truth and error. Between light and darkness. Between good and evil. Between right and wrong. Between God and Satan. There is no middle ground. You are either a child of God or you are a child of Adam. You are either on God’s side or you are on Satan’s side. And if the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth then there is a truth to stand on and all that opposes the truth is a lie and is “anti-God”.

Now I want to go over some verses which are meant to inform our perspective on this world compared to the world above.

When the Apostle Paul and others were suffering for the truth, he noted that, “Indeed, we felt that we had received the sentence of death. But that was to make us rely not on ourselves but on God who raises the dead” (2 Cor. 1:9)

Also, regarding how Christians are viewed in this world. Paul says, “for we are the aroma of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing, to one a fragrance from death to death, to the other a fragrance from life to life” (2 Cor. 2:15-16).

And regarding how God’s Word of Truth is viewed by those in this kingdom here. Paul says that, “even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. (2 Cor. 4:3-4)

At last, though things are difficult for one who carries within their body the very essence of God, by the Holy Spirit, in this world, which is controlled by Satan. Paul notes that, “though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. (2 Cor. 4:16). Because his hope was not in this life. His treasure was not here. His mind and heart were FIXED day and night on the Kingdom from above.

And in defense of Who Paul relied on for his life here, because he recognized his body was simply a “SHELL” and nothing more. He said, but we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us” (2 Cor. 4:7)

And now here is the foundation for Paul’s hope. Focus on this and make it your perspective. He said, “as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal” (2 Cor 4:18)

Why? Because, “we know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord, for we walk by faith, not by sight” (2 Cor. 5:6-7).

And as Christian’s, who have been redeemed by the blood of Christ, and now are indebted to our Savior and Lord because, as Paul says, “one has died for all, therefore all have died; and he died for all, that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised” (2 Cor. 5:14-15).

So then, we are NOT our own. We are NOT of this world. We are born of God. We belong to a different King and we are of a different Kingdom! So how are we to then live. EVERYDAY by the grace that comes by the power of the Holy Spirit given to us from the Kingdom above. We are to love one-another as members of the same Kingdom, being brothers and sisters in Christ, by the Holy Spirit. And we are to REFLECT Christ, His love and truth to the world down here by that same Holy Spirit. And “Holy” means, set-apart, as unique or for special use. That is you child of God. Simply because you are not your own. You are born of the Holy Spirt and bear within you the Spirit of the LORD! And all you have to do now is make the decision to daily “abide in the true Vine” being Christ. And as a simple branch who gets all its sufficiency and life from the Vine, you REST in that Vine. By LIVING near the heart of that Vine through the surrender of YOU. ALL OF YOU to that good and gracious, all sufficient Vine! Now, look up. Seek the Kingdom which is from above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your mind there through daily, intentional INTIMACY with God. He will make the way for you to have deep, and true, authentic fellowship with Him if…..YOU are willing

Finally, listen to this song which will help you reflect on that Kingdom from above!
