And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him.
1 John 5:14-15
Today I am here to I testify to this truth: “that I shall look upon the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living! Wait for the LORD; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the LORD!” (Ps. 27:13-14) I have waited, I have expected, and I have received.
Since, according to the Word of the Lord which cannot lie, since God has exalted His word just as He has His Name, meaning His nature and His authority, because it says “You have exalted above all things Your name and your word. [With the very next words being] On the day I called, You answered me;” (Ps. 138:1-2, emphasis mine throughout). Therefore God’s Name is on the line if He does not respond according to His will when we seek to glorify His Name or His Word since He cannot act differently than His nature or His Word, either in Person (Christ), or in written form (the Bible), since they have equal authority.
Today I sought the Lord for healing for my mind and my faith by going to the elders of the church to be anointed with oil and prayed over for a miracle, TRUSTING GOD to respond according to His nature by answering my desire for healing. I have asked to be healed of OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) and for a faith that relies upon the authority of scripture as the Word of God from Genesis to Revelation basing my confidence upon the nature of God and not upon the wisdom of the world. The scriptures say, “Is anyone among you sick [physically, and by extension, mentally, emotionally, psychologically, or spiritually]? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save [since this is being written to Christian’s, “will save” should be interpreted as “will heal, or restore”] the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven” (Jam. 5:14-15).
Now, Jesus said to His disciples: “Have faith in God. Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours” (Mk 11:22-24) This faith must first be rooted in God through Christ, as it says above. And so what do we know about God? We know He is Holy, meaning without error or flaw of nature, that He is not like man, and that He is set-apart being above all things. We also know He cannot sin and that His will is perfect. Therefore, first, for anything to be “cast into the sea by faith,” it must align with His will for it to take place.
Today I know what His will is and I will testify to it: His will is His glory! His will is that His Name be exalted above all gods and above all powers, above all pride, above all human wisdom, above all things which seek to HINDER HIS GLORY in CHRIST in the lives of His children!!! His will is that we are Holy [set-apart] unto Christ in faith and obedience. His will is that we walk by faith and not by sight. His will is that we love Him first and by extension love others. Therefore, ANYTHING which hinders God’s glory from being accomplished through loving God and loving others MUST BE ERADICATED, which is in accordance with His will! His will is that the lost are found, the broken are restored, and the sick are made well (UNLESS the sickness glorifies Him more than the healing if the healing makes the individual less dependent upon Christ’s strength). His will is that the blind receive their sight, that those in chains of bondage are set free. And His will is that we delight ourselves in Him, and then we will receive the answers to our requests, for He says, “Delight yourself in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him, and he will act [on our behalf] (Ps. 37:4-5).
Today I believe that it is God’s will in Christ Jesus to set me free of all things which hinder me from loving Him and from loving others and from all stumbling blocks which seek to cause doubt and confusion regarding the authority of His Word. I believe it is His will to restore me to mental, emotional, and spiritual health. And do you know what? On March 5, 2020, when a different group of elders, at a different church, prayed over me for healing from anxiety and for some other things, I left that building BELIEVING I had been healed … and I was! And while I was praying right before making this post I heard something deep inside of me say “you do presently have what you have asked for in prayer.” And right behind me is posted on the wall something I wrote on March 5, 2020, so that I would never forget. It says “you do presently have what you have asked for in prayer.” It also says “I AM FREE” and I WILL walk in it. Therefore, Today I am FREE and I WILL walk in it! And I DO presently have what I have asked for in prayer! How do I know I am healed? Because my healing regarding these specific things is in alignment both with His will and His word! I told Him I will testify to His Church (Body-of-Christ) the truth. And this is the truth: His will is His glory!
“And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him” (1 Jn 5:14-15)
Amen. Be healed according to your faith.
